Turkish defense minister, deputy president visit Romania for official talks

Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler is currently on an official visit to Romania, engaging in bilateral meetings and discussions, the defense ministry said in a statement. 

In the statement, it was stated, "Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler, following his meeting with Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Richard Marles in Canakkale Gelibolu, has traveled to Romania for official meetings.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, who expressed interest in the NATO chief position to replace current Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in October, highlighted the strong NATO alliance between Türkiye and Romania.

Deputy President Cevdet Yilmaz will also meet with representatives of the Turkish business world in Bucharest on Friday as part of the visit. Yilmaz will hold one-on-one and delegation-level meetings with Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu at the government building. He will be received by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

On the same day, Yilmaz will attend the ceremony for the Black Sea-Podisor Natural Gas Pipeline Project in Dragalina and meet with workers at the Omnia Starch Factory in Mecidiye.
